When the kitchen remodel needs three new circuits, our electrician is already on the schedule. No waiting on a sub who doesn't return calls.

We know Boston houses

Triple-deckers, brownstones, and capes with 60-amp fuse boxes and cloth wiring. We've opened those walls before, usually during a water job.

Permits pulled, inspections passed

Common questions

Electrical FAQ for Greater Boston homeowners

Yes. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit, which requires an electrical permit and a licensed electrician. We pull the permit and handle the inspection.
Usually most of it. We fish new wire through existing cavities where we can and open walls only where we have to. If you're already doing a renovation or a water damage rebuild, that's the cheapest time to rewire, because the walls are open anyway.
If you're adding an EV charger, central air, a heat pump, or an electric range to a 100-amp house, probably. We'll do a load calculation and tell you straight whether the upgrade is needed or you can wait.
Often. Many Massachusetts insurers won't write or renew a policy on a house with active knob-and-tube. We document the replacement so you have proof for your carrier.
For active water or fire damage, yes, as part of the emergency response. If you have no power and water in the house, call (617) 642-2617 and don't touch the panel.
